IAI OBI TORAY LAUNA

This is an iaido belt made from the same fabric as the new top-grade polyester iaido uniform and iaido hakama.

It has been newly released in response to customer requests to have a matching belt made from the same material. By coordinating the iaido uniform, hakama, and belt, you can achieve a more unified and refined appearance.

The fabric incorporates anti-static threads (Toray’s ultra anti-static lining “Luana”), which help eliminate unpleasant static cling and crackling sounds caused by static electricity. It also resists dust, keeping the garment clean and comfortable to wear at all times.

[What is Toray’s ultra anti-static fiber “Luana”?]
Woven-in carbon (organic conductive fibers) instantly releases generated static electricity into the air. Developed using Toray’s proprietary polymer technology, this thread—known as an organic conductive fiber—has carbon running through its core, surrounded by nylon.

Luana’s mechanism for blocking static electricity is based on a principle called corona discharge. By neutralizing static electricity generated through friction or separation with electricity of the opposite polarity, it safely removes the charge. Through the continuous and instantaneous action of corona discharge, Luana effectively eliminates static electricity on a permanent basis.
